Potions by Mooshka was born, like many products, out of necessity.  as a wife, mother, and nurse for 25+ years, living in Ohio with the daily harsh changes in weather was tough on my already dry skin. I tried all the popular products out there, and found them to be wet and goopy (if that is a word). More importantly, shortly after they were applied, and dried, my skin was left feeling as dry and itchy as before. So after much thought, the nurse in me decided that instead of looking for another product out there to try, I would do some research into the ingredients that are being used in skin care products, and what ingredients are beneficial to your skin. What I found was that in many products, the majority of the ingredients were not there to benefit your skin at all. In fact, many were harmful to you, and the environment, with some actually causing dryness and irritation, the same problems they were meant to treat. ( I guess that would be a good way to keep you coming back for more.)

Then I thought about the “new” products that came out over the years and remembered the stories of how they were founded. In each story, it started out by a glamorous actress or model who travelled to some exotic country, and observed how naturally beautiful the women were. In each story, they discovered that the women used the local oil on their skin, Olive oil in Italy, Shea in Africa, Argon in Morocco. The list goes on. Women all over the world, for centuries, used oils and butters on their skin to keep them looking healthy and beautiful. That is when I decided to formulate my own moisturizer, using healthy, nourishing oils, essential oils and ingredients that are good for your skin, with none of the bad. No water, preservatives, emulsifiers, smoothers, thickeners, artificial fragrances, chemicals, etc… Just 100% goodness. So Potions by Mooshka was born.

Our vision is to provide all natural, healthy skin care products, from head to toe. Since our skin is the largest organ of our body and our first line of defense from all the harmful substances of the outside world, our first goal was to formulate a product that includes natural oils and butters that can nourish, heal and protect the skin. We then add ingredients, such as vitamin E and aloe, which are well known for their healing qualities, to help restore damage that can be done with everyday life. Finally, essential oils are carefully chosen, not only for their benefits to the skin, but also for their ability to enhance the experience with their beautiful, aromatic scents. Ingredients you can feel good about, that leave your skin feeling healthy and protected, with a supple, youthful glow. Life made simple.
